Short version: your settings stay in your browser, and analytics only run if you say yes.

What stays on your device

Volume levels, timer and Pomodoro settings, whether you dismissed the install prompt, and your cookie choice are kept in your browser’s local storage. They are never sent anywhere and are readable only by this site on this device. Clearing your browser data removes them.

There is no account system, so there is nothing to sign into and no profile associated with you.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are used. It runs under Google Consent Mode with analytics storage denied by default: until you press Accept on the cookie prompt, no analytics cookie is written. Decline and nothing is stored.

What is collected when you do accept is aggregate and standard — pages viewed, approximate region, device type, referring site. It is not linked to an identity, and no audio choice, timer value or session content is recorded.

Third parties

Two external services are contacted while the site loads:

  • Google Fonts — serves the Inter typeface; your browser requests the font files from Google
  • Google Analytics — only after consent is granted

Advertising

The site currently shows no adverts. Slots exist in the layout for a future advertising partner; if and when they are filled, this page will be updated in advance to say who the partner is and what that means for cookies and personalisation. Consent for advertising storage is denied by default and will stay that way unless you change it.

Changing your mind, and contact

Clearing site data in your browser resets your cookie choice and shows the prompt again on your next visit. To ask what is held about you, or to raise anything else, use the contact route on the about page.

This policy applies to focusnoise.net only. Last reviewed when this version of the site was published.

Common questions

Do I have to accept cookies to use the site?

No. Decline and everything keeps working — the audio, the timers and the Pomodoro cycle are all client-side and none of them depend on analytics.

Are my settings sent anywhere?

No. Volumes, timer lengths and Pomodoro preferences are written to your browser’s local storage and stay on your device. There is no account and no server-side profile.

How do I withdraw consent later?

Clear this site’s data in your browser. That removes the stored choice and the prompt appears again on your next visit, defaulting to denied until you decide.
